Junaid Khan says he no longer discusses film scripts with father Aamir Khan
Junaid Khan has said that he no longer shares or discusses film scripts with his father, Aamir Khan, choosing instead to make creative decisions independently as he establishes his own career in the industry.
Reflecting on an earlier experience, Junaid explained that involving his father once led to an unexpected level of emotional investment. “I made the mistake of discussing a script with him once, and he got very emotionally involved,” he said, noting that such involvement can naturally influence the scale and pace of a project. While he acknowledged his father’s strengths as a producer, he added that he prefers to navigate his choices without that level of influence.
Junaid emphasised that the decision is rooted in creative autonomy rather than disagreement. “I don’t discuss scripts with him anymore. I want to take my own decisions now,” he said, adding that developing his own instincts is essential at this stage of his professional journey.

He noted that he still values his father’s guidance in broader matters, but believes that keeping script discussions separate allows him to build an identity that is distinctly his own.
