Netflix announces second season of ‘Lock Upp’
Netflix has announced a second season of its flagship Indian reality series ‘Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa’.
Produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Manisha Sharma, and showrun by Malaya Pradhan, the new instalment follows a debut season that emerged as a major pop culture talking point, generating conversation both on-screen and across social platforms.
Built around its distinctly Indian format, ‘Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa’ found resonance with audiences in India and overseas, with Netflix stating that the show’s most shareable moments drove more than five billion views across social media and word-of-mouth discussions. The series positioned itself as a participative reality format, with viewers actively engaging in the narratives unfolding inside the jail.
Season one saw contestants confront public perceptions, address controversies and reveal deeply personal truths. Confessions became discussion points, confrontations fuelled debate and unexpected alliances reshaped the competition, turning the show into one of the most talked-about reality properties in the market.
The upcoming season is set to continue that premise, bringing a new group of contestants into the jail, where shifting dynamics, evolving relationships and hidden secrets are expected to drive the narrative.

The announcement also confirms the return of Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh as the format’s jailer duo for the second season.
