Lyricist Harbans Singh Jandu passes away

Punjabi music lyricist Harbans Singh Jandu has passed away his family have announced.

In his career, Jandu – also known as ‘Jandu Littranwala’ – wrote songs for leading Punabi artists including AS Kang, Kuldip Manak, Surinder Shinda, Balwinder Safri, Jazzy B, Sukhshinder Shinda, H-Dhami, Amrinder Gill, Azaad, Alaap, Heera Group UK, Holle Holle, Apna Sangeet, Awaaz.

His famous hits included “Giddhian Di Raniye” by AS Kang, “Jina Main Tenu Pyar” by A.S. Kang, “Nachna Punjabhan Da” by A.S. Kang, Chan Mere Makhna by Balwinder Safri.

Janu’s family announced his passing saying: “With great regret and a heavy heart, we have to announce our father and lyricist Harbans Singh Jandu – ‘Jandu Littranwala’ passed away on the 08/03/2025. He passed away in the presence of his beloved wife and family.”
