How Romesh Ranganathan helped the Faithfuls win ‘Celebrity Traitors’
Comedian Romesh Ranganathan and actor Sebastian Croft emerged as the last Faithfuls standing in the second series of BBC’s ‘Celebrity Traitors’, securing victory after a tense finale that saw the remaining Traitors exposed and banished.
The pair overcame a succession of twists during the final episode, which concluded with the banishment of remaining Traitors Maya Jama and King Kenny before the Faithfuls claimed the prize pot worth £83,000 for charity.
Ranganathan, who had become one of the series’ standout personalities thanks to his mix of humour and instinctive gameplay, found himself at the centre of several crucial decisions during the finale. After Maya Jama was voted out, suspicion shifted among the remaining players, leading to further banishments that eventually exposed King Kenny as the last Traitor.
The final stages remained tense, however. James Blunt pushed for an additional banishment despite the Faithfuls appearing to have secured victory. The move ultimately backfired, with Blunt becoming the final contestant to leave the game before Ranganathan and Croft were confirmed as winners.
Speaking after the result was revealed, Croft told Ranganathan: “I began this game as a faithful, but I’m ending this game as a faithful,” with Ranganathan responding in kind before the pair celebrated their victory.

In a later reaction, Ranganathan admitted the win was accompanied by a degree of self-doubt over some of his decisions during the closing stages of the game, joking that he may be “the worst winner in the history of this entire game”.
The victory marked a rare success for the Faithfuls after a season packed with dramatic twists, including surprise Traitor revelations and a succession of high-profile exits. The finale also featured one of the show’s biggest missions, with contestants using helicopters, buggies and explosives to add £18,500 to the prize fund.
For Ranganathan, the triumph capped an entertaining run that saw the comedian emerge as one of the defining figures of the series and ultimately help steer the Faithfuls to victory.
