Sara Ali Khan faces fatwa following Kedarnath temple visit
Sara Ali Khan has reportedly faced a fatwa from an Islamic cleric following her recent visit to the Kedarnath temple in Uttarakhand.
The actress visited the Hindu shrine on 25th October, where she reportedly offered prayers and participated in religious rituals.
Maulana Mufti Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, an Islamic cleric based in Uttar Pradesh, criticised Sara’s visit, describing her actions as “impermissible and haram” under Sharia law. He also urged the actress to repent and seek forgiveness.
The controversy has prompted differing reactions from other religious figures, with some questioning the cleric’s comments and defending Sara’s right to visit places of worship.
