Laxman Utekar set to work with Shraddha Kapoor in next
Following the resounding success of ‘Chhaava’, filmmaker Laxman Utekar is set to reunite with Maddock Films for an ambitious new project starring Shraddha Kapoor. The film, currently untitled, is described as a one-of-a-kind period musical centred around the life of a dancer.
Shraddha Kapoor has been confirmed in the lead role and, according to sources, has already begun intensive training in a classical dance form to fully embody the character. The film is presently in pre-production, with principal photography scheduled to commence in November 2025. A theatrical release is being targeted for the latter half of 2026.
In addition to this collaboration, Utekar has officially signed a new project with another large production house. Reports suggest the deal was finalised last week following a series of discussions. While the pair have agreed on a story concept, the full screenplay is still in development. This forthcoming venture is expected to go into production once Utekar wraps up his musical with Kapoor.
