Deepika Padukone will not be in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ sequel
Deepika Padukone, who played a pivotal role in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, has confirmed she will not be part of the film’s upcoming sequel.
The production house, Vyjayanthi Movies, issued an official statement on 18th September 2025 announcing her departure from the sequel.
In their statement, Vyjayanthi Movies said, “This is to officially announce that @deepikapadukone will not be a part of the upcoming sequel of #Kalki2898AD. After careful consideration, we have decided to part ways. Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership. And a film like @Kalki2898AD deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future works.”

The makers added that although Deepika was part of the first film’s long journey, they were unable to reach an agreement suitable for the sequel.
