‘Dhurandhar’, which hit cinemas across India on Friday, has reported collections of around Rs. 24 crore nett. However, industry insiders note that this figure includes extensive block bookings, meaning the actual earnings are closer to Rs. 17 crore nett, nearly 30% lower.
Such inflated reporting is not unusual when block bookings dominate, as seen previously with films like ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’ and ‘Sky Force’. In those cases, the real numbers mattered little given their limited prospects.
