BBC Nottingham presenter Kaval Vaseer passes away

BBC Radio Nottingham presenter, Kaval Vaseer has passed away after a long battle with cancer.

The station announced the news on Friday and paid tribute with a special show on Sunday. He had been presenting the show ‘Dhamaka’ on BBC Radio Nottingham, since he joined in 1989.

The announcement said, “We’re sad to report our presenter Kaval Vaseer has died after a long battle with cancer. Kaval joined BBC Radio Nottingham in 1989 to launch Dhamaka, our specialist programme aimed at younger listeners from the Asian community, and has presented the weekly show ever since.”

As well as being a radio personality, Vaseer worked in management at a local authority.
