JioHotstar set to launch on Sky in UK
JioHotstar is set to launch on the Sky platform in the UK, BizAsiaLive.com can exclusively reveal.
The move marks a significant development for JioStar’s streaming proposition in the UK, with JioHotstar poised to become the first major streaming service of its kind to launch on the Sky platform. It’ll be available on Sky Q, Sky Glass and Sky Stream from Wednesday 2nd September.
As previously revealed by BizAsiaLive.com, Hotstar is being rebranded as JioHotstar, following the wider integration of the JioStar streaming business. The new service is officially scheduled to launch on Wednesday 2nd September 2026.
BizAsiaLive.com understands that JioHotstar will initially be made available to Sky customers, with a launch on Virgin Media expected to follow at a later stage.
JioStar UK is understood to be planning a major rollout for the service, with further details surrounding its UK distribution strategy and launch plans expected to be announced in the coming days.
