Star Plus UK & JioHotstar UK confirms premiere of ‘India Ke Top 1%’
JioStar has confirmed the UK premiere of its much hyped new gameshow ‘India Ke Top 1% hosted by Anil Kapoor. It airs on Star Plus UK and JioHotstar UK from Saturday 19th September.
‘India Ke Top 1%’ is the Indian adaptation of the internationally successful BBC Studios format ‘The 1% Club’. Produced by Banijay Asia in association with BBC Studios, the format takes a different approach to the traditional quiz show, focusing less on memorised knowledge and more on logic, observation, reasoning, common sense and problem-solving.
Rather than testing contestants on conventional general knowledge or current affairs, the format is built around questions that challenge participants to think differently and work out the answer from the information presented to them. The emphasis is on how contestants think, rather than simply what they know.

This is Star Plus’ first non-fiction show after a hiatus. It will play a focal part in the channel’s weekend schedule. It airs every weekend at 20:00, beginning Saturday 19th September. It will also stream on the newly launched, JioHotstar UK at the same times as Star Plus UK.
