Ajay Devgn announces action film ‘Chauhaan’ with first look reveal
Ajay Devgn has unveiled the first look of his upcoming film ‘Chauhaan’, marking his latest return to the action genre for which he is widely known.
The announcement was made on the birth anniversary of the late action director Veeru Devgan, with the film’s makers releasing an introductory video offering a glimpse into what is described as a gritty, action-led narrative.
Devgn, whose career includes a number of prominent action roles, appears in a new avatar as the film’s titular character. ‘Chauhaan’ also marks his first collaboration with filmmaker Aanand L Rai. The project is being presented and produced by Jio Studios alongside Colour Yellow Productions.
The first-look video features the song “Jumma Chumma De De” in the background and concludes with the dialogue, “Pathaanon se kehna, Chauhaan aa raha hai,” signalling a return to a larger-than-life on-screen persona. The film positions Devgn once again in a mass-market action role that has been a defining aspect of his career.

‘Chauhaan’ is directed by Neeraj Yadav and produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aanand L Rai, and Himanshu Sharma. It is scheduled for a theatrical release on 1 October 2027.
The film adds to Devgn’s long-standing association with action cinema, while also bringing together a new creative collaboration behind the scenes.
