Raj Shoker is set for her silver screen debut opposite Sonam Bajwa in the Punjabi movie ‘Jind Mahi’, which releases worldwide on 5th August 2022.
Raj, is a familiar face to UK audiences – a presenter on BritAsia TV. She started out as an inexperienced vlogger at the age of 16 years old, has grown a huge online following over a short period of time. Her big break soon followed when she was cast opposite Satinder Sartaaj within the music video ‘Udaarian’, which has amassed over 200 million views on YouTube.
Raj has since gone on to cement her position as one of the Brit-Asian industry’s most in-demand personalities, hosting several high-profile events, including sold out concerts and red-carpet events at some of the UK’s biggest arenas.
‘Jind Mahi’ sees Raj debut opposite Panjabi superstar actress Sonam Bajwa, Ajay Sarkaria, and Gurnam Bhullar. Raj has spent the last twelve months between the UK & India, where she has also been filming her second movie, this time opposite Gippy Grewal and Tania.
‘Jind Mahi’ has been produced by White Hill Studios and is being pitched as a refreshing take on love and romance that Punjabi cinema will bear witness for the first time. A romantic comedy at its heart, ‘Jind Mahi’ is backed by soulful music by Desi Crew, Goldboy and Oye Kunaal that will fill the air with romance and have everyone swaying and foot-tapping to the melodious tunes.
Directed by debutant director Sameer Pannu, the film offers a contemporary, slice of life landscape. Having been shot at alluring and picturesque locations across the UK, ‘Jind Mahi’ is billed as more than just a regular romantic comedy.
