Uday Shankar joins Board at Viacom18
Viacom18 has confirmed the appointment of Uday Shankar to its Board, following the successful completion of transaction related to Viacom18’s strategic partnership between Reliance, Bodhi Tree and Paramount Global.
With the way things stand now, TV18 (owned by Mukesh Ambani) will hold 50.994% equity stake, while Bodhi Tree (backed by Shankar and James Murdoch) will have 0.011% stake in the company. Paramount Global will hold 48.994%.
Shankar left Star India in 2020 after a 13-year stint. He joined hands with Murdoc to float Lupa India to to explore technology and media opportunities in emerging markets.
