Indian Super League TV & digital rights up for grabs in India

In the first time of the history of the Indian Super League (ISL), its owners Football Sports Development Ltd (FSDL) has floated a two-year media rights tender, set at Rs. 550 crore.

Economic Times reports that the TV rights will be awarded for the Indian subcontinent, while the digital rights will only be for the Indian market.

Up until now, Disney Star has held on to the exclusive rights. This is the first time that FSDL has floated a tender to sell the media rights since its inception ten years ago.

The bidders will be shortlisted on 11th August. Viacom18 is rumoured to be the frontrunner to take the rights, as Disney Star has reportedly lost money on the property.
