Trailer released for Taapsee Pannu’s action-thriller ‘Gandhari’
Netflix has unveiled the trailer of ‘Gandhari’, an action-thriller headlined by Taapsee Pannu. The film follows a mother’s search for her abducted daughter, a journey that leads her into a series of dangerous and unexpected circumstances.
Set in the fictional town of Joypurra, the trailer introduces a community where fear and silence exist alongside the enigmatic Behrupiyas, who form a key part of the town’s cultural landscape. As an investigation into the disappearance gathers pace, Bani, played by Pannu, decides to take matters into her own hands in an effort to bring her daughter home.
The film traces her pursuit through hidden secrets, escalating threats and shifting alliances, with the story centring on determination and survival in the face of uncertainty.
Directed by Devashish Makhija and written and produced by Kanika Dhillon, ‘Gandhari’ also stars Ishwak Singh as Gokul, a father dealing with his daughter’s disappearance, and Jatin Sarna as Kabir, the officer leading the investigation. Swastika Mukherjee, Mita Vashisht and Chhaya Kadam round out the cast.
Reflecting on the project, Taapsee Pannu said, “What stayed with me throughout ‘Gandhari’ was Bani’s refusal to give up, even when everything seemed stacked against her. The role demanded a great deal physically, but it was her resilience, conviction and unwavering spirit that truly drew me in. Director Devashish Makhija said the project appealed to him because of the opportunity to create a distinct world on screen.

‘Gandhari’ is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on 3rd September.
