‘Sholay: The Final Cut’ set for landmark Royal Albert Hall London screening

The Royal Albert Hall will host a landmark screening of ‘Sholay’ in October 2026, presenting the restored 4K version of the film with a live orchestral performance. The event forms part of the Hall’s internationally recognised Films in Concert series and marks the first time the 1975 classic will be shown in this format.

The screening, titled ‘Sholay: The Final Cut – Live in Concert’, will feature the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra performing R.D. Burman’s score in sync with the film. The presentation brings together one of Indian cinema’s most influential works with one of the United Kingdom’s most prestigious cultural venues, offering audiences a rare opportunity to experience the film with newly restored visuals and a full orchestral accompaniment.

Sholay remains one of the most celebrated films in Indian cinema, known for its scale, performances and enduring cultural impact. Its presentation at the Royal Albert Hall places it alongside major international titles that have previously been showcased in the Hall’s concert‑film programme, reflecting the film’s continued relevance and global appeal.

Tickets for the event are expected to attract strong interest from both long‑time admirers of the film and new audiences discovering it through this large‑scale presentation.
