Salman Khan set to move out of Galaxy Apartments as new Bandra home takes shape
Salman Khan is preparing to move out of Galaxy Apartments, his long‑time residence in Bandra, as construction on a new family home progresses. The actor has lived at Galaxy Apartments since the 1970s, and the building has become closely associated with him and his family. However, recent developments indicate that the Khans are set to shift to a newly approved property in the same neighbourhood.
The new residence, located in Bandra’s Chimbai area, has received full environmental clearance from the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority. Registered in the name of Salman’s mother, Salma Khan, the plot previously housed a two‑storey structure that was demolished after being declared unsafe. The approved plans outline a six‑storey home with stilt parking, covering a built‑up area of more than 1,000 square metres.
Reports note that the family has been considering a move for some time, with Galaxy Apartments offering limited space and heightened security concerns following the firing incident outside the building in 2024. The new property, situated close to the seafront, is expected to provide greater privacy and enhanced security.

While Salman Khan has not issued a formal statement, the commencement of construction and the clearances granted suggest that the family will relocate once the new home is completed. The development marks a significant change for one of Bollywood’s most recognisable residential landmarks.
