Rani Mukerji’s mother Krishna Mukerji dies at 75
Krishna Mukerji, the mother of Bollywood star Rani Mukerji, has died at the age of 75.
Mukerji passed away on Tuesday afternoon, according to a statement issued by the family through Yash Raj Films. The family has not publicly disclosed a cause of death and has asked for privacy as it mourns her loss.
“With heavy hearts, we share that Rani Mukerji’s mother, Mrs Krishna Mukerji, 75, passed away this afternoon. The family is deeply grateful for your love, prayers, and support, and respectfully requests privacy during this time of immense grief.”
Krishna Mukerji was a playback singer associated with both the Hindi and Bengali film industries. She was married to filmmaker Ram Mukerjee, who died in 2017, and was the mother of Rani Mukerji and filmmaker Raja Mukerji.
