Ranbir Kapoor starts work on ‘Ramayana 2’ amid delays with ‘Love And War’

Ranbir Kapoor has begun work on the second instalment of Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious two-part epic, ‘Ramayana’.

Kapoor, who portrays Lord Ram in the mythological saga, has started filming key sequences for ‘Ramayana 2’, with production focusing on major scenes that will form a crucial part of the sequel’s narrative. The upcoming schedule will include pivotal combination sequences between Lord Ram and Sunny Deol’s Lord Hanuman, with Deol expected to join the set around 20th March.

Originally, Kapoor had been scheduled to begin shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love And War’ in March. However, due to Bhansali’s recent health concerns, the production timeline for the film has been pushed back, with filming now expected to resume around May 2026.

The revised schedule has allowed Kapoor to dedicate his time to completing significant portions of ‘Ramayana 2’. Meanwhile, ‘Love And War’, which has been a long time in the making, also stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, and is slated for release later this year.
