Panjab Radio celebrates 25 years with special programming week
Panjab Radio today marked 25 years since it first went on air for the UK’s Punjabi community.
Founded in 2000 by Surjit Singh Ghuman MBE, Panjab Radio became the first 24-hour national radio station on a satellite platform catering specifically to Punjabi listeners in the UK.
Surjit Singh Ghuman, MBE, said: “Today we celebrate 25 years of unforgettable music, cherished memories, and unwavering community support.
“From our first broadcast in 2000 as the UK’s first national satellite Panjabi Commercial Radio Station, we have maintained our position as the UK’s Number 1 Panjabi Commercial Radio Station. Aside from the UK Panjab Radio broadcasts globally, find us on Smart Speakers, 558am in London DAB in Greater London, Coventry & Warwickshire, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Bradford Newcastle upon Tyne, Derbyshire and Nottingham, national DAB in Norway, Europe-Wide on Sky Channel 0125 and on- line via panjabradio.co.uk.
