Panjab Broadcasting Channel UK follows GTC Punjabi with Golden Temple Gurbani
Amid the ongoing legal dispute between GTC Punjabi and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) over rights to broadcast Shabad Gurbani from Sri Harmandir Sahib, another broadcaster has now begun airing the sacred feed.
PTC Punjabi has historically been the sole authorised broadcaster of Shabad Gurbani from the Golden Temple. Earlier this month, GTC Punjabi broke from that precedent by commencing daily telecasts sourced from SGPC’s digital feed. SGPC maintains that the relay is unauthorised and has stated that no broadcaster may air Gurbani without its formal consent.
GTC Punjabi said it initiated the telecast to widen access for devotees and argued that the SGPC’s publicly available digital stream should not be restricted from linear distribution. The broadcaster has told the court it informed SGPC in advance and is relaying the feed without any commercial intent.

In a further development, Panjab Broadcasting Channel in the UK has also started airing morning and evening coverage from Sri Harmandir Sahib. The SGPC has not yet issued a formal response to this latest move.
The dispute between GTC Punjabi and SGPC is currently before the court, with the next hearing scheduled for the end of the month. Until then, GTC Punjabi has been permitted to continue broadcasting the Gurbani feed.
