Naga Munchetty confirms exit from BBC One’s ‘Breakfast’
Naga Munchetty is set to leave BBC One’s ‘Breakfast’ at the end of the year, bringing her 12‑year tenure on the flagship morning show to a close. Her departure forms part of a wider reshuffle across BBC News as the corporation continues its shift towards Salford‑based production.
Munchetty will move full‑time to BBC Radio 5 Live, where she has been appointed co‑presenter of the station’s weekday Breakfast programme from January 2027. The BBC described the move as a strategic strengthening of its audio offering, positioning Munchetty as a central voice in its morning schedule.
Confirming the transition, Munchetty said she was “excited to take on a new challenge” and looked forward to building the next phase of her broadcasting career at 5 Live.
