Mouni Roy condemns misbehaviour by two men at Haryana event
Mouni Roy has spoken out after experiencing inappropriate behaviour from attendees during a recent performance in Karnal, Haryana.
According to Roy, the incident began as she was making her way to the stage, when several elderly men and male family members attempted to put their hands around her waist while taking photographs. After she asked them to stop, they appeared offended. Matters escalated once she reached the stage, where, she said, “Two uncles stood right in front, making lewd remarks, showing me lewd hand gestures, name‑calling.”
Reacting to the ordeal, Roy stated, “I’m humiliated, traumatised and want the authorities to take action for this intolerable behaviour.” She added that performers like her attend such events simply to do their job and contribute positively to the celebrations.

“We as actors go to these events to wish the bride and the groom, to add to their celebration. We are their guests, and they harass us like this,” she said, expressing her shock and disappointment at the incident.
