Hema Malini accepts Dharmendra’s posthumous Padma Vibhushan at emotional ceremony
Hema Malini has accepted the Padma Vibhushan awarded posthumously to her late husband, Dharmendra, at a ceremony in Delhi, marking a moment of pride and poignancy for the family.
The veteran actress and parliamentarian travelled to the capital to receive the honour on his behalf, describing the experience as deeply moving. She said the recognition had brought the family together in shared pride, noting: “The entire family is happy. Sunny, Bobby, everyone is aware of this, and it’s a big moment for all of us.”
Malini also reflected on Dharmendra’s long and influential career, expressing that the honour felt both fitting and overdue. “He deserved it much earlier as well,” she remarked, adding that the award served as a reminder of the actor’s enduring legacy in Indian cinema.
