Hardeep Singh Kohli to stand trial on rape and sex offence charges

Hardeep Singh Kohli will stand trial next year on multiple charges of rape and sexual offences, following a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow. The broadcaster and comedian faces 20 charges involving five women, with alleged incidents said to have taken place between 2006 and 2022. He has entered not‑guilty pleas to all counts.

The indictment includes five charges of rape, alongside allegations of sexual assault, indecent assault, indecent communication, breach of the peace, and other related offences. Several of the alleged incidents are reported to have occurred at BBC premises in Glasgow, as well as at locations in Edinburgh, Dumfries and Galloway, and the Radisson Hotel in Glasgow.

Kohli has lodged special defences of consent in relation to a number of the charges. A further procedural hearing is scheduled for 10 September, with the full trial due to begin on 1 October next year.
