Deepika Padukone shares social media post to mark beginning of ‘King’ shoot with SRK

Bollywood star Deepika Padukone took to Instagram today to mark the beginning of her shoot for ‘King’, her sixth film alongside Shah Rukh Khan. The emotional post features a photo of the duo holding hands on set in Poland, symbolising their enduring on-screen partnership that began with ‘Om Shanti Om’ nearly 18 years ago.

In her caption, Deepika reflected on a lesson Shah Rukh taught her during their first film together: “The experience of making a movie, and the people you make it with, matter far more than its success.” She added, “I couldn’t agree more and have applied that learning to every decision I’ve made since. And that’s probably why we’re back making our 6th movie together?”

The post comes just days after Deepika’s confirmed exit from ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, prompting speculation that her words subtly reference her preference for creative harmony over commercial ambition. Fans and fellow celebrities, including Ranveer Singh, flooded the comments with support, celebrating the reunion of one of Bollywood’s most iconic pairs.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, ‘King’ also stars Suhana Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Rani Mukerji, and Anil Kapoor, and is already being hailed as one of the most anticipated films of 2026.
