‘Bombay Superstars’ brings 1970s Bollywood magic to Beck Theatre after West End success

Following a successful West End debut, Phizzical Productions’ Bombay Superstars — a musical homage to 1970s Bollywood — will be performed at the Beck Theatre in Hayes, West London, from 8th to 17th November.

Featuring a mix of live performances, classic Bollywood hits, and dynamic choreography, the production immerses audiences in a world of disco, divas, and Bollywood glamour.

The musical tells the story of a young orphan’s journey to fame in 1970s Bombay, where she becomes involved with ambitious actor Arjun, director Pavan Picturewalla, and superstar Bunty. Set against a backdrop of love, ambition, and family secrets, Bombay Superstars features hits like “Bachna Ae Haseeno,” “Dum Maro Dum,” and “Chura Liya”.

In its commitment to diverse representation, Phizzical Productions has introduced 23 British Asian and South Asian artists to the West End, marking a significant milestone in inclusive casting. The main cast includes Rekha and Chirag Rao, Omar Khan, Sowmya JayKrish, Robby Khela, and Rukmini Sircar. The ensemble cast, led by choreographer Leena Patel, brings high-energy dance sequences, with live music by The 515 Crew under the direction of Hinal Pattani.

Bombay Superstars represents the fourth British South Asian musical to make it to the West End and the first by an independent producer.
