UK TV Reach: Sony TV closes gap with Star Plus at No.1 to just 50k

Sony Entertainment Television’s good run in UK ratings continued, with over half a million reach putting it closer to market leader Star Plus, according to week ending data Sunday 15th July 2018.

For the first time, Sony TV and Star Plus distance shrunk to just under 50,000 viewers. Star Plus registered a reach of 567,000 viewers, followed by closely by Sony TV with 519,000 viewers. Over the past few weeks, Sony TV has been on the tail of Star Plus but is yet to overtake it. With the latest figures published, this is the closest Sony TV has come to overtake Star Plus at the top, which has been reigning UK ratings for several years.

Other channels in the pecking order were Colors with 341,000 viewers, Hum TV with 340,000 viewers, ZEE TV with 263,000 viewers, Zing with 255,000 viewers, Star Bharat with 241,000 viewers, Prime TV with 237,000 viewers and &TV with 215,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Sony SAB TV with 199,000 viewers, Rishtey with 190,000 viewers, Venus TV with 187,000 viewers, Geo TV with 150,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 131,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 124,000 viewers, PTV Global with 120,000 viewers, Iqra TV with 117,000 viewers, ARY Family with 79,000 viewers, Geo Kahani with 77,000 viewers, NTV Europe with 59,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 39,000 viewers, Living Foodz with 34,000 viewers and Urdu 1 Europe with 18,000 viewers.
