Monty Panesar joins political party Workers Party of Britain

Former England cricketer Monty Panesar has thrown his hat into the political arena by announcing his candidacy in the UK elections.

He has joined George Galloway’s fringe Workers Party of Britain and will be on the ballot in Ealing Southall.

Monty Panesar said: “I want to be the voice for the workers of this country,”

“My aspiration in politics is to one day become Prime Minister, where I would make Britain a safer and stronger nation. But the first job at hand is to represent the people of Ealing Southall.”

Panesar born in Luton, Bedfordshire, to Sikh immigrant parents from India, Panesar.
