UK TV Reach: Colors overtakes others to take No.4

Colors has made a comeback of sorts in latest weekly reach data for UK Asian TV channels, according to official figures from BARB for week ending Sunday 5th June.

The channel took fourth place with a reach of 505,000 viewers (last week 481,000 viewers) behind Star Plus, which remained the UK’s top Asian channel with 930,000 viewers (last week 910,000 viewers), followed by UMP Movies with 599,000 viewers (last week 600,000 viewers) and Rishtey in third with 514,000 viewers (last week 620,000 viewers).

The next tier consisted of &TV with 481,000 viewers (last week 494,000 viewers), followed by Star Gold with 446,000 viewers (last week 390,000 viewers), Life Ok with 445,000 viewers (last week 364,000 viewers), Hum TV with 442,000 viewers (last week 608,000 viewers), Zing with 439,000 viewers (last week 512,000 viewers), SAB TV with 395,000 viewers (last week 405,000 viewers) and Prime TV with 337,000 viewers (last week 327,000 viewers ).

The bottom tier consisted of PTC Punjabi with 235,000 viewers (last week 199,000 viewers), followed by Geo TV with 201,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV and Venus TV with 197,000 viewers, PTV Global with 158,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 120,000 viewers and Sikh Channel with 88,000 viewers.

ARY News remained the UK’s most watched South Asian news channel but lost viewership with 358,000 viewers (last week 404,000 viewers), followed by a close Geo News with 343,000 viewers and Dunya TV with 255,000 viewers. SAMAA TV was in fourth with 223,000 viewers, followed by NDTV 24×7 with 159,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 153,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 129,000 viewers, ABP News with 111,000 viewers, News18 with 52,000 viewers and Times Now with 45,000 viewers.
