UK ratings: Star Plus, Colors & UMP Movies rule

Star Plus, UMP Movies and Colors rocked UK TV ratings in latest data supplied by BARB for week ending 30th August 2015.

Star Plus’ weekly reach decreased from 936,000 viewers to 909,000 viewers – it remained the most watched Asian channel in the UK. UMP Movies moved back to second place with 731,000 viewers (last week 517,000 viewers), Colors was at No.3 with 698,000 viewers (last week 423,000 viewers) and &TV moved up to fourth with 670,000 viewers (last week 508,000 viewers).

Rishtey was at No.4 with 623,000 viewers (last week 499,000 viewers) and Zing in fifth with 526,000 viewers (last week 474,000 viewers).

The next tier consisted of Hum TV with 510,000 viewers, SAB TV with 449,000 viewers, Geo TV with 367,000 viewers, Star Gold with 360,000 viewers, Life Ok with 330,000 viewers and PTC Punjabi with 267,000 viewers.

The bottom tier saw the likes of Prime TV with 176,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 153,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 131,000 viewers, PTV Global with 129,000 viewers, Venus TV with 126,000 viewers, DM Global with 114,000 viewers, Sikh Channel with 108,000 viewers and TV99 with just 29,000 viewers, fighting it out.

ARY News held on to the mantle as the UK’s most watched South Asian news channel with 436,000 viewers (last week 442,000 viewers), followed by Geo News with 230,000 viewers, Dunya TV with 204,000 viewers, SAMAA TV with 191,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 141,000 viewers, Geo Tez and NDTV 24×7 with 134,000 viewers and ABP News with 121,000 viewers. News18 India remained at the bottom with 61,000 viewers.
