UK ratings: ARY News reaffirms lead overall rivals

With the South Asian news genre in UK fast becoming saturated with new players, some of the older channels are sending out communication to remind clients and advertisers their actual status.

ARY Network has done exactly that! In its regular email newsletter, the broadcaster has reiterated the market position of ARY News, which remains the UK’s most watched South Asian news channel. According to official BARB/Digital-i data (All homes, 06:00 – 23:59, consolidated viewing of 3+ minute continuous viewing), ARY News was well ahead with 840, Aaj Tak with 521 and Geo Tez completed the top three with 479.

The others were Samaa TV with 452, Geo News with 439, NDTVC 24×7 with 427 and News18 India at the bottom with 195.

No doubt, the channel will face competition in the market from Dunya News, which launched in the UK today. It remains to be seen how market share of existing players will change in the coming weeks.
