Star Plus to introduce finite mini-series fictions?

To combat the threat from digital platforms, Star Plus is reportedly planning on introducing a new format for its fiction programming.

According to IWM Buzz, the popular channel is working on a strategy of “going premium” with short finite concepts, consisting of 26 episodes per series.

A source told the publication, “The idea is to compete directly with the high premium quality content available on popular digital platforms. Star Plus has reached out to multiple producers for the mini-series concepts, and has already started commissioning few concepts.”
