Sony MAX scoops rights of biggest romantic hit of 2025 ‘Saiyaara’
Sony Pictures Networks India, the parent company of Sony TV and Sony MAX, has acquired the broadcast rights to the year’s most successful romantic release, ‘Saiyaara’.
Produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by Mohit Suri, the film features Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in the lead roles. Released during the summer, ‘Saiyaara’ proved a runaway success at the box office and has since been recognised as one of the most prominent romantic hits in recent years.
Sony TV has outpaced rival broadcasters to secure the premiere screening. The agreement is notable given that Yash Raj Films recently shifted the majority of its catalogue from Sony to Star India (now JioStar). It remains uncertain whether this arrangement represents a singular exception or signals a broader return of Yash Raj titles to the Sony portfolio.
