Sequel of Rani Mukerji’s ‘Mardaani’ confirmed

Rani Mukerji has confirmed plans for a sequel of her thriller ‘Mardaani’ (2014).
According to DNA India, Mukerji will be reprising the role of cop Shivani Shivaji Roy. The film will see director Gopi Puthran taking up the project.
Mukerji said, “Mardaani is and will always be extremely close to my heart. Since its release, everyone has asked me time and again when I would be doing Mardaani 2 and I’m sure this announcement will come as a pleasant surprise to all of them. Gopi has written an extraordinary script and I can’t wait to start shooting this film soon.”
The film is expected to go on the floors in early 2019, before its release in mid-2019.
