Saif Ali Khan confirms acquiring Hindi remake rights of Nilanjana Roy’s novel ‘Black River’
Saif Ali Khan has revealed that he has purchased the rights to Nilanjana Roy’s acclaimed novel ‘Black River’, with plans to develop it into a feature film. The actor spoke about his admiration for the book, describing it as one of the works that has resonated with him most deeply.
Reflecting on what drew him to the novel, Saif explained that ‘Black River’ is “far more than a conventional crime story,” calling it “a police procedural murder mystery, but also really emotional and moving, centred on the murder of a very young little girl.”
The actor went on to share that his connection to the material was strong enough to inspire him to secure the adaptation rights. “I love the story so much that I bought the rights to the book and we’re trying to make a movie out of it,” he said.
