Revealed: Why Kajol didn’t do Ram Madhvani’s film

Kajol came back to the screens with ‘Dilwale’ (2015) after a five year break. However, the film wasn’t the first she was offered as her return. BizAsia has previously reported that she was meant to do a women-centric film made by Ram Madhvani. There was a particular reason that she didn’t sign the film as her comeback.

According to Filmfare, the actress had a discussion with her husband Ajay Devgn when she was offered ‘Dilwale’ while already being in talks with Madhvani. Devgn advised his wife that she would probably be better off signing ‘Dilwale’ as her comeback and then she can be seen in Madhvani’s film later. Unfortunately, Madhvani then went ahead to make ‘Neerja’ and therefore his film with Kajol was put on the back burner.

It remains to be seen whether the film will see light of day in the future. Meanwhile, Kajol was appreciated in her somewhat negatively shaded role in ‘Dilwale’.
