Ranbir Kapoor confirms work on ‘Brahmastra 2’ to start “very, very soon”
Ranbir Kapoor has confirmed that work on ‘Brahmastra 2’ is progressing faster than anticipated, revealing during a livestream with fans that the sequel is set to begin “very, very soon”. The actor hosted the session on 14 February 2026, speaking candidly about his upcoming projects and reflecting on past films.
Addressing the long‑awaited follow‑up to Ayan Mukerji’s 2022 fantasy epic, Ranbir said, “‘Brahmastra 2’ is in the works, we shall start that movie very very soon, sooner than you expect.” His comments mark the clearest indication yet that the franchise is actively moving forward, with production likely to commence earlier than many had predicted.
During the livestream, Ranbir also spoke about Mukerji’s earlier hit ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, responding to fans who frequently request a sequel. “A lot of you guys want part 2 but there are so many new movies, new directors and new ideas to work with. I think ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ had the perfect end. So I don’t think it warrants a part 2,” he said.
