Raj Arjun spills the beans on his Bhopal shooting experience for ‘Love Hostel’

Actor Raj Arjun, who has carved a niche through his roles in films like ‘Secret Superstar’, ‘Thalaivii’, ‘Dear Comrade’, ‘Watchman’ among others, now adds another significant role to his kitty by donning a cop’s uniform in Shanker Raman’s ‘Love Hostel’. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Drishyam Films, it features Bobby Deol, Vikrant Massey and Sanya Malhotra as well which is now streaming on ZEE5.

Raj Arjun gets candid about shooting experience in his hometown Bhopal and challenges of playing a cop. Sharing his nostalgic experience of shooting in Bhopal he says, “It feels amazing as when I was passing from airport, watching those streets, roads and nukkads where I used to hang around and do theatre. It’s a place where I have brought up my business and family. I’m very connected to Bhopal and at the same time it gives me a sense of pride. It arouses a sense of responsibility and makes you feel happy about the city. It feels pleasure to come back after years and do something big from where I have started. Where I’m today is all because of my Bhopal upbringing, education and theare training which has taught me each and everything. These things altogether sometimes makes me numb, emotional and sentimental. It was a pride feeling and a very good experience.”

He further adds, “I was shooting next to BharatBhavan where I did my training. It was a magical feel. My family and mates are so proud of me seeing my journey and whatever worthwhile I’m trying to do in cinema. This makes me feel satisfied. I relieved and cherished all my previous memories over there. At the same time, I felt great pleasure working for this film. It fills with sense of gratitude towards my theatre and batch mates when I see myself doing a meaningful cinema going back to the same place. It gives you a realization of accomplishment which I owe to them and my family members. My family supported me throughout which helped me to choose roles wisely and steadily.”

Giving insight about his role he says, “You will not see a normal routine police officer who goes to work and solve cases but a deep layer in this character which I think audience will connect a lot more than just a police officer. Our writer and director tried to show a cop’s personal life as a person as well. He also goes through lot of things which you will get to see in the film.”
