Priyanka Chopra opts out of Rakesh Sharma biopic due to SRK?

Priyanka Chopra hasn’t been seen acting in an Bollywood film since ‘Jai Gangaajal’ (2016). While she has turned producer, she was said to be starring in the Rakesh Sharma biopic, tentatively titled, ‘Salute’ with Aamir Khan. Khan has reportedly backed out of the project, with Shah Rukh Khan stepping in. With this new development, Chopra is also reportedly not a part of the project or the next ‘Don'(2006)  movie, also starring Shah Rukh.

Deccan Chronicle reports a source saying, “It’s quite elementary, really. PeeCee and Shah Rukh don’t work together. It’s a casting taboo that the whole industry knows. When Aamir was replaced by SRK in the Rakesh Sharma biopic, Salute, Priyanka had to go too.”

Another source revealed that she is not being considered for the ‘Don’ franchise. “No matter what they say, the fact is that the Don team, producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, are on the lookout for a replacement for Priyanka in the third film.”

Chopra is seen in ABC’s television series ‘Quantico’ (2015-).
