Prateik Babbar to restart his career with Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Baaghi 2’

Prateik Babbar will be re-launched by producer Sajid Nadiadwala in the Ahmed Khan directed ‘Baaghi’ (2016) sequel as the young negative lead.

Babbar made his Bollywood debut with Aamir Khan’s ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’ (2008), also featuring Imran Khan and Genelia D’Souza, reports Times of India. This was followed by Kiran Rao’s directorial debut ‘Dhobi Ghat’ (2010), Prakash Jha’s social drama ‘Aarakshan’ (2011) and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s musical comedy ‘My Friend Pinto’ (2011).

He then appeared in Manish Mundra’s comedy drama ‘Umrika’ which premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and Manish Tiwary’s Romeo and Juliet tragic romance, ‘Issaq’ (2013), before disappearing off the Bollywood radar.

The ‘Baaghi’ sequel has Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani in the lead. “It is an important role and Prateik suits the character perfectly. He was signed recently and is extremely excited because Tiger is a childhood friend and this is the first time they will be sharing screen space together,” informs a source close to the development. The star will start prepping for his role closer to the first schedule in August. In the past, Nadiadwala has launched many young faces, including Shroff and Kriti Sanon in Sabbir Khan’s ‘Heropanti’ (2014).
