Owners of Islam Channel, E Media Group acquires Tribune Magazine
Tribune Magazine will continue publication under new ownership following its acquisition by E Media Group, the parent company of Islam Channel.
The group is chaired by Mohamed Ali Harrath, a media executive with extensive experience in the UK media landscape.
Founded in 1937, Tribune is a longstanding British publication known for its democratic socialist editorial stance. Its owner, Tribune Media Group, will provide support through an editorial advisory board that includes figures such as Labour MP Jon Trickett (as chair), Bhaskar Sunkara (president of The Nation and founder of *Jacobin*), and other trade unionists and socialist voices.
Under E Media Group’s ownership, Tribune aims to not only maintain its print edition but also increase its publication frequency. The magazine plans to invest in expanding its digital reach through video content, podcasts, newsletters, and new platforms in order to engage wider audiences in the UK and internationally.

Editor Alex Niven and the existing editorial staff will continue to help guide the publication.
Jacobin publisher Asher Dupuy-Spencer said: “We are delighted that Tribune will continue to be in good hands. Mohamed Ali Harrath has a long history of being an independent voice in the media, of campaigning and of providing a platform to those who are ignored in today’s media and political landscape”.
Currently reaching over 10,000 readers each quarter through its magazine and hundreds of thousands online every month, Tribune has been at the heart of leftwing politics and debate in Britain for 88 years: anti-fascist and anti-imperialist, for peace, equality and socialism throughout.
