Neev Spencer to host Asian Media Awards 2023

Magic Radio presenter, Neev Spencer has been confirmed to host this year’s Asian Media Awards.

Neev is best known for her multiple award-winning radio shows and currently presents the coveted afternoon show on Magic Radio.

She is an accomplished host and writer and during her 20-year career has toured the world as a DJ at major venues and events supporting the likes of David Guetta and Hardwell.

Neev was the first Asian presenter to have a major show on a commercial national radio and her career has seen her present drive time and breakfast shows including the Kisstory on Kiss FM.

Alongside her Radio work, Neev is frequently seen on television offering her views on various subjects.

Neev said she was looking forward to hosting her first Asian Media Awards ceremony.

She said: “It is wonderful to be asked to come to Manchester and celebrate the contribution of journalists, media professionals, actors and writers from across the country.

“I am firm believer in making genuine change when it comes to representation and it only through our collective efforts, we can make this happen.

“The awards have been helping to shine a light on the inspirational stories and people within the industry for a decade. I am really looking forward to speaking to colleagues and hearing about all the groundbreaking work they do.”

A spokesperson for the Asian Media Awards said: “We are delighted Neev will host the 2023 ceremony as we celebrate those working in journalism, creative media, stage, online and broadcasting.

“Neev has spoken passionately about diversity and inspiring leadership within the industry, and this has been something the awards have been keen to address for many years.”

Outside of her professional life Neev is a passionate supporter and ambassador for five charities, including The Prince’s Trust and Best Beginnings. From hosting the Teenage Cancer Trust’s concert at the Royal Albert Hall to an Iftar Mental Health Fundraiser at Kensington Palace, Neev has championed a wide range of causes.

In 2017, she embarked on a journey of Mental health campaigning appearing as a panellist on BBC 5 Live’s ‘Mental Health Mum Takeover’.

This International Women’s Day, Neev embarked on her biggest charity mission to date by trekking the Annapurna Trek in Nepal in aid of fighting Human Trafficking for charity One Family Global.

She said she spends her days caring for her two daughters ‘raising them as strong powerful little women’ and values her commitment to self-care, following a routine of mindful moments and fitness’.
