Mithun Chakraborty has undergone a minor surgery at a private hospital in Kolkata and is recovering well. The 74‑year‑old actor and BJP leader was admitted on Thursday night, with doctors confirming the procedure was successful.
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari visited Chakraborty and said he is stable and expected to be discharged soon. Hospital sources added that the surgery involved the removal of a metal plate from his right hand, linked to an earlier injury.
Chakraborty, best known for films such as ‘Disco Dancer’, continues to balance his film career with political commitments. His family has assured fans that he is doing well and will return home shortly.
