Ma Anand Sheela hopes Alia Bhatt plays her onscreen

A lot has been spoken about a movie on Ma Anand Sheela, who was former spokeswoman of the Rajneesh movement. She was also the personal secretary of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh (Osho).

Her vibrant lifestyle and a lot were known to people from the controversial documentary ‘Wild Wild Country’ (2018) streamed on Netflix. Currently, Sheela is in India and she was interviewed by Karan Johar at an event, reports DNA India. Johar shared a selfie with her on his Instagram page and wrote, “Interviewing #maanandsheela was an experience! She is fun forthright and fabulous! Dodging every answer in her inimitable fashion! She is controversial without revealing a thing! Now that’s an art! She is witty and never at a wit’s end!”

Last year, during an interaction with Rajeev Masand, Alia Bhatt revealed that she would like to play Sheela onscreen. The star had said, “I find that story super fascinating.” There were reports making the rounds that Bhatt is likely to play her role and Aamir Khan to be seen as Osho. However, when Bhatt was asked that she is indeed playing the role, the star avoided it and said, “No but I would kill to (play her)”

When the Times of India quizzed Sheela about who should play her onscreen, she replied, “I think there is a movie being made in Bollywood and I hope Alia Bhatt will play my role.” She further said, “When I say that, it is my wish, my choice of actress. She looks a bit like me and she has a bit of spunk in her like me.”

Sheela went on to involve that she won’t interfere in the filmmaking process when a biopic is made on her. She concluded, “Ah, people do what they want to do. I have no problem with that.”
