Lyca Radio Network to launch Lyca Radio 90s, Lyca Radio Punjabi & Lyca Gold 2

Lyca Radio Network is further strengthening its portfolio of radio brands with the introduction of three exclusive online radio stations.

The first of these is Lyca Radio – 90s, the UK’s first and only dedicated station celebrating 1990s Bollywood chart-toppers. The service will feature iconic soundtracks from films such as ‘Aashiqui’, ‘Saajan’, ‘Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin’, ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, ‘Lamhe’, and many more unforgettable hits from the decade.

The second station, Lyca Radio – Punjabi, marks the network’s inaugural Punjabi music service, offering an extensive selection of both classic and contemporary Punjabi anthems. Listeners can expect legendary artists including Gurdas Maan, Surjit Bindrakhia, A. S. Kang and Safri Boys, alongside modern favourites such as Karan Aujla, Sidhu Moose Wala and others.

The third station, Lyca Gold 2, will complement the flagship Lyca Gold Radio as a dedicated music-only service. It will broadcast an uninterrupted collection of timeless classics that have helped establish Lyca Gold as the household name it is today. Lyca Gold 2 follows in the footsteps of Lyca Gold, which was the UK’s first retro Asian music station and has fast become the official No.1 Retro Asian Music Station across Greater London.

All three stations will be available exclusively via the Lyca Radio mobile app, in line with the network’s strategic focus on expanding its digital presence. They will also be accessible on LycaRadio.com and via Alexa-enabled devices.

Airtime sales for the new stations will be managed exclusively by an external agency, operating separately from the existing radio brands.

Raj Baddhan, CEO of Lyca Radio Network, described the launches as a personal milestone, coinciding with his fifth anniversary leading the UK’s foremost Asian radio network.

He said, “It has been five years since I was appointed CEO of Lyca Radio Network, and during this period I have been proud to implement a number of game-changing decisions that have invigorated the UK Asian radio landscape. To further elevate Lyca Radio Network and usher in a new era of Asian radio broadcasting, I am delighted to announce the launch of Lyca Radio 90s, Lyca Radio Punjabi and Lyca Gold 2 to enrich our existing portfolio of successful stations. These new services will sit alongside our flagship brands and offer even greater choice to listeners tuning in through the Lyca Radio mobile app. This marks only the beginning of our digital ambitions.”
