Karan Johar’s ‘Nazdeekiyan’ on Prime Video inspired by ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kenha’?
The upcoming Prime Video series ‘Nazdeekiyan’ is reportedly centred on the subject of infidelity, prompting comparisons to the thematic territory explored in the 2006 film ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’. Although the projects are distinct, early indications suggest that the new series revisits similar emotional conflicts through a contemporary lens.
A source said, “The series is a contemporary take on infidelity. ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’, though controversial at the time, aged well, with generations resonating with the four leads’ conflict. The team at Dharmatic was keen to revisit the idea, and from there, the story for ‘Nazdeekiyan’ was fleshed out.”
Produced by Dharmatic Entertainment and directed by Ruchir Arun, the series is structured as a twenty‑episode drama focusing on two couples. Its format suggests a layered ensemble narrative, designed to examine shifting loyalties, emotional distance and the complexities of modern relationships.
