Juggy D: “We use to get chappal if we didn’t speak in Punjabi”

Singer Juggy D has, in a candid conversation, shared that he was beaten with slippers for not speaking in Punjabi at home.

Juggy has recently released a new single “Mere Ban Ja”, shared that it was the common house rule that everyone will speak in Punjabi at home and English is for outside. He said, “We use to get chappal if we didn’t speak Punjabi at home. At that time growing up in the UK we obviously didn’t like that and we thought that they were being very strict for not letting us speak in English at home.”

Juggy added further and revealed that he does not hold any grudge against his parents and feels blessed that his parents were strict else he would have not known to speak in Punjabi let alone sing in the language. He said, “I’m glad that they did that because had they not done that forget speaking Punjabi, How would I be singing it. So I thank my parents for ‘chappeda’ (Slaps) and ‘chappal’ (slippers). Juggy took the incident in good humor and said, “We got a lot of beating as we were the naughtiest kids but as they say the naughty kids get good later”.
