Ishan Chatterjee appointed CEO of sports at JioStar
JioStar has named Ishan Chatterjee as the new Chief Executive Officer of its sports division, following the departure of Sanjay Gupta, who recently took on the role of CEO at the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Chatterjee previously served as Chief Business Officer – Sports Revenue, SMB & Creator Monetisation, and initially joined JioCinema as Chief Revenue Officer in August 2024. Since then, he has swiftly expanded his remit within the JioStar ecosystem.

JioStar expresses interest to exit ICC media rights deal
In his new role, Chatterjee will oversee the entire sports vertical, spanning strategy, media rights, programming, partnerships, monetisation, and operations. He will continue to report to Kiran Mani, and will be instrumental in driving key transformation initiatives and managing strategic stakeholder relationships.
